I feel very honoured to salute the inauguration of the Greek Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance in 2021.
The message that the Greek Government is sending today, in every direction, is that we have a duty to fight anti-Semitism and all forms of racism, social division and genocide; to keep the Holocaust alive in our minds and to pass on the sufferings, the agony, but also the respect for Human Values to future generations as a Holy Memory — in order to avoid the repetition of dark phenomena that dishonoured humanity.
It is our duty to do our best, having as beacons the promises “Never Again” and that “We will never forget”. To the extent that we succeed, we will have contributed, all the partners of the Alliance together, to an act of great historical significance.
