The Greek state and governmental institutions, with deep consistency and high conscience, paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust in the frame of the International Remembrance Day 2022.
Speeches were delivered or messages were posted by the President of the Hellenic Republic, HE Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Deputy Prime Minister, Panayiotis Pikrammenos, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Niki Kerameus, as well as the EU Vice-President, Margaritis Schinas, political parties and mayors all over Greece, emphasizing the significance of the day as a reminder of our duty to never forget, but also to rethink and take action against new emerging threats of racism, discrimination, antisemitism. Remembrance Day is just a reminder of our ongoing duty towards the victims of the Holocaust, to which we respond based mainly on the power of education, as the Greek Presidency of the IHRA has pinpointed setting its priorities nearly a year ago.
