The Kalamata International Conference on the Holocaust, Genocides, and Mass Atrocities took place successfully under the auspices of the Greek Presidency

At its very end the Greek Presidency to the IHRA has had the much wished opportunity to organize a hybrid event, in which members of the IHRA Delegations as well as other honourable guests participated with physical presence, along with many more who attended online.

The work of the extremely interesting International Conference on “The Holocaust, Genocides, and Mass Atrocities: Remembering the Past to Safeguard the Future” developed on the 25th and 26th of February, in the hospitable and beautiful city of Kalamata, and it was successfully completed having followed an exceptional program.

The Conference was co-organized by the Secretary General for Religious Affairs of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and His Eminence Metropolitan of Messinia, with the support of the U.S. Mission in Greece and the Fulbright Foundation Greece.

Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Niki Kerameus, His Eminence Metropolitan of Messinia, Chrysostomos, Ambassador of Israel to the Hellenic Republic, Yossi Amrani, U.S. Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, Geoffrey R. Pyatt, Chair of the IHRA, Georgios Polydorakis, and CEO of American Jewish Committee, David Harris, addressed the opening of the Conference.
