Within the framework of the Greek Presidency of the IHRA, the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece organized an event for the unveiling of a Jewish Holocaust Memorial in the city of Xanthi, in memory of the 526 Xanthi Jews who were exterminated in the Holocaust. The unveiling ceremony was organized with the cooperation of the Xanthi Municipality and the Cultural and Development Center of Thrace and took place on the 20th of February 2022, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Niki Kerameus, the Ambassador of Israel Yossi Amrani, the IHRA Chair, George Polydorakis, the President of the Central Board of Jewish Communities, David Saltiel, representatives of the local authorities and religious leaders.
